The Yonsei Basketball Association would like to invite all boys
and girls entering the 8th grade in the fall of 2011 to find out about
a once in a lifetime opportunity to play basketball in Japan, while
learning about your heritage and culture.
Our organization has a two-year program in which the first year
includes a trip to Japan, home-staying
with a player in Japan, and playing basketball in an international
atmosphere. The second year you will be
able to host the same player from Japan and show them our culture here
in the USA.
All players must try out to make the team. This try out includes
filling out an application, having at least a 3.0 GPA, two letters of
recommendations, completing a physical basketball workout, writing an
essay, and participating in an interview (parent's will
also be interviewed).
The deadline for the upcoming 2012 Yonsei 19 Goodwill/Cultural
experience will be December 19, 2011.
Check our website at www.yonseibasketball.org
for further information on dates for tryouts and interviews.
If you are interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity,
we encourage you to go to our web site to learn about the Yonsei 19
team going to Shimane, Japan in August 2012.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks again.
